About Jim Woodring
Jim Woodring's surreal visions and lush dreamscapes have made him one of the most influential alternative cartoonists of the past 20 years. He is best known for two alternative comics the "illustrated auto-journal" Jim and the much-celebrated Frank series. Recently, Woodring has collaborated with jazz guitarist Bill Frisell on the multimedia children's storybook Trosper, and was a 2002 Wattis Artist-in-Residence at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, where he was featured in a retrospective on alternative comics.
Since 2001, Woodring has been designing toys for the Japanese market, including the Crazy Newts capsule toys for Sony Art Capsule and Mantra for Presspop. DORBEL is his first figure with a US-based company.
