With a power spot on the corner near the entrance of the show, Toy2R had an impressive array of figures to announce at Toycon. They're obviously on a route of fast expansion, diversifying the product lines into as many figure categories as possible- 2-inch mini figures, 8-inch roto vinyls and everything in between.
* Qees: An entire display case was devoted to Toy2R's entry into the mini figure market. With over 100 original designs (not to mention color variants), the Qee universe is out of control. In addition to the standard Qee Series 2, Toy2R has worked with a number of design houses and retailers worldwide on special Qee series. Most of them are cool. * Bobble Head Toyers: Toy2R's ubiquitous Toyer figure gets the bobble head treatment, using a body modified from The Stronghold Group's Gruntz figure (with added springs on the head and arms). Three variants were available at Toycon: red & white, black & red and black & white. * 8" Qee Bear: In another riff on the Qees, Toy2R released a rotocast 8" Toyer Qee bear, with the Toyer fanged face and Toy2R logo on the belly. One entire display case was also dedicated to 8" rotocast Qee figures. The top shelf was by far the most interesting, with custom designed versions from a variety of French Pix Festival artists. * BBQ Bear in Camo: More variants of the baby mold were released, this time in different-colored camouflage. * Waif: In a departure from the Qee/Toyer continuum, Toy2R featured a new figure in the Living Dead Doll/Edward Gorey vein. * Soft Vinyl Toyers: Not to be outdone by other HK toy producers, Toy2R had crossovers of their own including a Toyer promo with Alcatel. Four other Toyer color variants were on display too. * Knuckle Bear: The unpainted prototype for a new rotocast figure, designed by Japan's Touma (who has a few designs in Toy2R's Qee Series 2), was shown on Day 2 of the show. |
