Jason Choy's Ching & Co returned to Toycon this December, after sitting out several shows over the past year. Jason has certainly been busy, producing exclusive variants for Diamond Comics Distributors in the US and developing a few additions to the Ching Head universe. Ching & Co's booth was right next to the exit this year, so was often the last stop for visitors on their way through the show. The booth display made good use of the product's packaging, which was prominently featured as stands and risers.
Ching & Co released two variants of a new figure and had all of their previously released figures available as well: * Potato Wheel: the latest figure from the world of Ching Head, Potato Wheel is the butcher and former executioner of Ching City. Featuring the same aesthetic mix of ancient Ching Dynasty and contemporary hip hop, Potato Wheel comes with an impressive array of accessories: meat cleaver, down vest, butcher's apron, sneakers, clog shoes and a potato-like skewer. Potato Wheel came in two variants: Potato Wheel (with yellow and black coloring) and Anti-Potato Wheel, (in red and purple). * Ching Head: Four variants of Ching & Co's first figure were displayed. The original Ching Head (in Red) and Anti-Ching Head (in Blue) were available, featuring a full set of accessories (hat, spear, two pair of shoes and display fabric). Diamond Comic's variant (in red, white and blue), with a pared-down set of accessories was also shown. An ultra-rare Black Ching Head variant with solid red eyes was on display, but was not available for purchase. |
